24th May 2008
Windsurfing: Felixstowe-Dip
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: lots
Surf / Sea State: Bad chop then rolling
Air Temperature: 17
Sea Temperature: 13
Weather: sunny
Max Speed: 26.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 41.8 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Got down around mid-day and rigged a 6m and sailed almost continually for a couple of hours, donwhauling as the wind increased. Sea was OK for a while then got quite big chop as it approached high tide and made sailing a bit hectic. Had a break for some tea and sandwich wating for the tide to turn, but as the wind increased change board and sail down to 5.2; glad I did as wind was quite strong and had to downhaul to max. Sailed off the spit where some wave faces were nice to ride down. It was OK turning close to shore but had to sail out to the buoy to get something not a complete mush. About 2 hours after high tide teh sea was much nicer and Ok considering the wind strength.
About 15 windsurfers out, and 5 kiters; nice to outnumber them for once and nice to see some new faces. A fantastic sail. Averaged 24.5knots over 250 metres and 24knots over 500m, which was pretty good for me considering the conditions.
